Default 5.29 install lots of grinding?

So I was ordering my 5.29s and kurt told me that It takes alot of grinding on the rear gears or housing Im not quite sure which I searched mud for like an hour and could not find pics any help explaining it to me would be great.

Only in one spot so you can slide the pin in and out.

You basically need to grind down one of the teeth on the ring gear.

Ben, why are you going for gears as opposed to some sort of t-case upgrade?

I decided to go with gears because it fits my overall goals for my truck and for now I need all the help I can get while I still have the f engine and once the F blows up in will go a 4bt/ nv4500/dana 300, and once I wear out these tires on goes a set of 39.5's and 4 link rear

You can avoid grinding too much by think this out, play with moving the ring gear around to see what amount you can grind. This will be a visual thing as the gear will usually not sit very far on the carrier. So if you can visualise(not proper spelling) when you rotate the ring gear, you will grind less. Other wise heat it, plop it and grind it. Later robbie

This might be stupid but couldnt I avoid grinding all together by just installing the spider gears and pin (loc rite in my case) and then pressing the ring gear on? wouldnt this work fine unless the pin broke or the loc rite failed
dont see any reason I would need to remove it?

How do you plan on putting the c-clips on to hold the axles in? You only need to grind on the rear as the front is full floating.
