Default Looking for rides during Cruise Moab

Hey everyone, on the advice of Matt Farr I am posting this up to see if anyone has any empty seats during CruiseMoab. I am attempting to hook my teenagers on the off road life and our rig will be out of service during this event. So if anyone can help out I would appreciate it. We will be driving in from Phoenix late Thursday and are looking for seats on Fri and Sat. Have a boy 17, and girl 14 who have grown tired of listening to tales and promises about going to CruiseMoab. This may be my last chance to get the 17 year old there before he heads off to a possible service academy appointment in 2008. Already lost the chance on the oldest who is now serving overseas in operation Iraqi Freedom as an F-15e Crew chief. Please advise and thanks.

Don,
What rating of trail do you want them to go on?

I haven't heard which trails I will get, but I will have an open seat on Friday and Saturday. I asked for Kane Creek Canyon and Elephant Hill respectively.

Default open seats

Jeff is far more crazy than my daughter Kali, I am sure that he would be up for anything. She may be a little more reserved but still willing to tackle most trails 3-4 rated. Thanks. I am looking to shoot a bunch of photos so if anyone can offer advice on good locations for action pix to send to my oldest. I'll probably shoot some video for him and his USAF buddies too. Not that they are lacking for off road adventure, but there is some difference in dodging boulders and dodging IED's!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of room if need be.

We may have room. My 16 year old is bringing her truck and that might work, but then you know how teenagers are

Guess the message is bring them and you will be able to find a ride with someone for sure.

Same here. Just show up & make some new friends, rides will be easy.

And I suspect your kids (and maybe you) will end up basing your decision more on vehicle type, than trail difficulty. Open top, bouncy & dusty? or cushy, A/C, leather... both have their appeals.

The trails are all really scenic. If I have an open seat, I'm always willing to have a passenger.

I will probably have an open seat although whoever sits there will need to have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills as they will be sitting between my 3 & 7 year old daughters

Oh here we go.. Mr. "I'm smarter than my FSM.. "

maybe you should base your ride decision on what the driver's cooking for lunch?
