Angry Georgia Pass - 6/17/07

Georgia is open to the top now. (from Jefferson) I blasted through the last drift in the Rubi yesterday around 2:30 ish. There was only one set of tracks about 1/3 of the way into the drift - took 3 attempts to get me through. There is alot of destruction at the top. Samshed carsonites, broken wooden sign posts and the the Georgia Pass sign is destroyed. The Breck side is still really drifted in, so I didn't bother trying it.

Some idiots really tore the place up. I couldn't believe it. How did they get there you ask? I noticed on the way back down - there is an illegal shortcut forming before the snow drift at the last switchback. My friend took pictures, so when I get them I'll put them up...

I hate dirtbags.

O how I hate dirtbags. We're having enough problems with Slaughterhouse etc. and then some morons go up and destroy another trail. What do they think's gonna happen once all the local trails are closed because of THEM?!!!!

Show the pix to the ranger. Too late to catch anyone, but certainly the ranger will want to know and there will be work to do to repair it.

True, true... I've decided not to put the pics up for public viewing. They will be sent to the F.S. to look at.

I hate how careful we have to be because of the greenies. I've never been with the Rising Sun on trail cleanups/repairs but I've been involved with a few on Colo4x4 and that's all that 90% us web wheelers want is to help keep these trails open, but the greenies get one of those pics off our sites and make us look like the bad guys. I haven't done Georgia pass that I can remember. I've seen some cool pics from up their though, looks like a really scenic drive.
