Arrow Cohvco Ohv Workshops Deadline Approaching Soon

From: COREY CORBETT [mailto:corbettfam@msn.com]
Subject: REMINDER: COHVCO OHV WORKSHOPS DEADLINE APPROACHING SOON

ATTENTION CLUBS!!
**REMINDER** REGISTER NOW AND RECEIVE FREE REGISTRATION FEE

We need your club, the enthusiasts we represent, to attend either workshop and let us help you keep your trails open!

COHVCO is planning 2 OHV enthusiast oriented weekend workshops this Summer. One in Monte Vista, CO on July 20-21, 2007 and the other in Montrose, CO on August 3 - 5, 2007. Please plan to attend the workshop in Montrose or Monte Vista, or both.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES ARE APPROACHING SOON! And lodging is also going fast.

The 2 COHVCO OHV Workshops scheduled for this summer are intended to accomplish the following:
  • Goal; With the ongoing USFS Regional Implementation of the National OHV Rule and the new direction of BLM Resource Management Plans that are also going to designated routes, the goal of this workshop will be to empower volunteers to be organized in their efforts and be provided with the proper tools and information for creating volunteer opportunities in better land stewardship.
  • Geographically; We chose locations in areas we had not been before, targeting forests in the southern tier of the region. Montrose; due to the central proximity to the GMUG, also because of the importance of local issues and Monte Vista for the same reasons. We are hoping this outreach will help generate more regional club and individual involvement and help focus on local issues. If you haven't been to this beautiful part of the state, then it's time to visit again.
  • Timing; Timing is of the essence this summer. There are looming deadlines for scoping, comments and input for Travel Management planning and route designation implementation, and so on.
  • Topics; The primary focus this year is geared toward educating and assisting enthusiasts and clubs to get mobilized as to how they can work with Land Managers that are moving toward designated OHV routes. Enthusiasts and Local Land Managers can sit down one on one and discuss local issues, learn the status of Travel Management Planning in that area and develop the needed contacts to be involved with the implementation of designated motorized routes in that area.
  • Incentives; We are offering scholarships for free registration fees to all enthusiasts and free lodging to a designated club representative to attend the workshop.
Attached is the announcement with agenda and registration form, or go directly to this link:

Feel free to pass this on or call me if you have any questions, I look forward to talking with you.

I asked him about a Front Range location. Answer: no.

Matt,
The Monte Vista workshop will be addressing a lot of issues with the Pike/San Is. We only have the two workshops.
