Default Brake Master Cylinder - Which One?

I need to put a brake master in my orange project. Figured I'd get a new one. Ige mentioned she got an Aisin replacement from Carquest for $109. She didn't say what year. I called Carquest (in Parker) today and they said $56 reman and $184 new. Couldn't guarantee me it was Aisin, though.

Does anyone know of a good local source for a new brake master? I imagine dealers are $$$$$ ! I could mail order it, too. It doesn't really matter. I'm running stock FJ40 front discs and GM rear discs/calipers.

Any help would be appreciated.

I got mine through Carquest a couple of years ago for less than $80(I think). It has worked fine. Don't recall if it is Asian.

Believe it or not, $OR had the special non-USA OEM brake master for my 78 FJ45 for only $155 - on the shelf! You might check them out. I paid Stevinson $221 to special order it for me before I found out about Spector having it, and for less $$$.

Ken, was it a re-man or OEM?
