Cool Hookah Picture 1

Lauren Rhine, 18, blows smoke from a hookah to Ian Baird, 22, at Marrakech Cafe, 2266 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver-area youths have warmed to hookah bars, where they pay to smoke a blend of flavored tobacco from glass water pipes.

Cool Hookah Picture 2

Wafi Shaban, left, and Steve Awada smoke apple tobacco from a hookah at Aladdin Cafe & Grill, 2594 S. Colorado Blvd. "For me, hookahs are a cultural reminder of my home," said Shaban, who grew up in Saudi Arabia. "I think about my days back in college. Smoking the hookah brings back memories."

Cool Hookah Picture 3

Nate Brigman, 18, blows smoke rings at Cheri s Place, 911 E. Colfax Ave. The eatery offers such hookah tobaccos as "Mile High" (jasmine, rose and grape) and "California Dreamin' " (peach, orange and coconut).

This guy kind of looks like Neil Quigley.

Depends on what the definition of "is" is.

Wow!! I'm blown away twice... once by the concept itself, the other by how comprehensively the club is able to do research! What else am I curious about...

Well in case you're wondering the next hot spot for hookahs is going to be up here at 120th & Pecos.

Hmm. I thought this was old news. The tobacco shop I go to has been selling hookahs for a long time, and they do a brisk business. I had always assumed they were for other vegetable products, but when I asked them about it they explained about the bars. Apparently they are also popular at private parties.
