Default 5 Jun 08: Rush is coming back to Red Rocks

Apparently their Snakes and Arrows Tour has been extended through 2008 and Red Rocks is on the schedule again for 5 Jun. I grabbed tickets today for the wife and I. Anybody else going?

Who went to the show last year and how was it? I couldn't find the old thred from last year. This is my first Red Rocks concert also.

I went last year! Absolutely AWESOME! I'm hoping the "best" friend I took with me last year plans on surprising me with tix like I did for him but even if he doesn't I'll still....OK..."maybe will still" keep him on my Christmas card list!

Seriously, come awn....it's Rush....'nuff said! The show was really long and they played a good rep of the last 30+ years (!) of their music. The furthest back they went was Passage to Bangcock which BTW was beyond incredible! The entire sold out (and must have been over sold) show stood the entire concert and the sound was.....well Rush at Red Rocks....'nuff said! Getty still has it and the range of his voice never faltered! Alex Lifeson is still a legend and the song his guitars sang all night was beyond belief! Neil Pert was a little calmer than in years past but had no problem keeping up with Getty and Alex! If your a die hard Rush fan (my first show was 2112!) you will not be disappointed! The crowd was hilarious as I think they were the same crowd I stood with 30 years ago with although they all aged and I haven't! It was loud and you couldn't hear the news choppers flying overhead filming the huge crowd so be prepared!

I have always been a die-hard Rush fan...just not as long as you . Permanent Waves got me hooked back in Junior HS. The last time I saw them was during the Grace Under Pressure tour in 1986 so I am stoked that I am able to see them again.

The tickets have us in Row 46, seats 1 and 2...do you think I will have visibility problems being off to the side?

Then you got Big Head Todd 2 days afterwards. A good way to start the summer

The show isn't very much laser light anymore but they do have three huge screens on the back stage. Fun stuff going on for sure. Take binoculars so you can watch Alex wail and Getty perform his majic on the keyboard! We were on row 20 in the middle and the binoc's still came in handy!
