EDIT: After reading the link Hants posted I'm guessing I didn't give my CBR a chance. I bet 1 CBR is all that is needed. If we used this set up in say Moab we could be total simplex and walking around camp with HT's. I set both my mobile and my HT up with the CTS tone set up too and it works the same. The Mobile is locked out of transmit mode so you could set it up and take the mic with you and no one could illegally transmit from that station. The only trasmissions will be coming from the operators on the HT's so technically you are not running an illegal station! What say ye masters?
