Default 80 Series OEM Snorkel Group Buy...

Saw this on MUD

Official 80 Series Factory Snorkel Group-Buy Thread

As it sits right now the cost appears to be ~$131 US (some $3 bracket seems to be unavailable) plus whatever shipping turns out to be.

There seem to be a fair number of issues to overcome (overwhelming demand, shipping, customs, etc) that may end up causing this to go no where but who knows...

I threw my name in the ring for 2 of them but honestly I'm having a hard time with the look of it. And, installation appears to be way more involved than say the Safari snorkel due to having to relocate the antenna motor if you want to retain it.

Here is a recent OEM snorkel install thread which got this all started.

Anywho...if you are interested throw your name on the list

The whole thing seems to have gained quite a bit of traction!

I'm still on the fence though. I REALLY don't like the look of the pre-cleaner or whatever you call that top piece and I'm not thrilled about either getting rid of or relocating the OEM antenna. Other than that I know nothing about snorkels or the difference between the OEM version and the Safari version.

Jeff, maybe we can get our own group buy on the Safari Snorkels.

That would work. Are you considering getting one? I never really have but then I saw that OEM group buy and it seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. But, that is how I came about owning a RTT that has been sitting in my garage now for a year, never used - OEM is and all but not really the best option for NA 80s I don't think...

I don't like the look of the OEM, and would go with the safari snorkel over the OEM in a heartbeat. I'd be interested in a group buy for the safari snorkel...

x3....the OE snorkel thread just died a painful death. I like the Safari styling a lot more.
