Default Where are guys getting your M1 gear oil?

This stuff is over $9/qt now at Auto Zone.. used to be $5.99. I haven't seen it anywhere lately for under $9.. anyone know where to get it cheaper? Looking for the normal 75w90 stuff, not this fancy new one I saw at Checker for $16/qt.

I found a case of 12 on line for $90, including shipping. That's the best I've found so far. here http://store.avlube.com/mob1syngearo.html Can anyone do better?

For that kind of price you might as well be running Red Line. I buy my Red Line at 3R racing in Englewood just south of Hampden. Don't remember how much it was, but it was less than that.

Tim Try looking up the Mobil distributer. I think you have to buy are larger quantity though. It's been recommended to me to do that when trying to find 5-40 delo diesel motor oil. So it should work for lube. dunno what it runs though

Look into Valvoline DuraBlend. Decent stuff. I end up changing my diff oil for one reason or another so frequently that synth makes no sense for me.

Another thought on that: synth does not protect from water infusion due to deep crossings, or from the accumulation of metal particles from R&Ps... frequent changes advised.

Nevertheless, if you pull my rear diff plug you will find red coming out. What does it mean if a guy has RedLine Shockproof laying around and is too lazy to go buy cheaper stuff when he is doing a reassemble at the last minute?

I've stayed clear of this topic but since Bill made his statement I will jump on. I am a Durablend kind of guy myself. I like Valvoline products so it's eith Synpower or Durablend for me.

Aw no need to be shy.. I'm not so passionate about oil types, though I do like the synthetics. Been thinking about switching to Valvoline Synpower as well for all my gear oils, mainly because of cost. The comparative graphs that Amsoil has all over the place proving that Amsoil is best shows Valvoline and M1 fairly close on all the tests.. I suspect the difference is negligible for my application.

However, I have left the sales manager at Siegel Oil in Denver a voice mail inquiring about group buy options, will keep you posted. I know I'm not the only one who likes the 0w40..

Did you try Wal-Mart? You used to be able to buy the big jugs there for cheap.
