Sounds right. I just converted the front on my 80 to a DC shaft using a Taco shaft, which for the 80 is bolt on once you have it retubed.

i just lifted the front of the motor an inch to relieve some interference issues and in effect changed my output flange angles... well, now the vibration in the back is much better, like night and day different. still vibrates up near 80 but now i know that with a little more tweaking of the rear pinion flange i can get it right! fun stuff. the lead i had on the DC shaft looks like it may have dried up... so a taco shaft might be what i get. Bill, where did you say to get one from?
