Default ok - add or aisin hubs?

Do I keep the shift on the fly, or put on hubs? Other than saving rotational wear of the front shafts, what am I gaining?

Rotational wear, yes

Gas mileage, no

If you plan on lifting it (even a moderate lift) and wheeling it, increased CV boot life expectancy and easier CV changes on the trail.

You can do hubs AND retain shift on the fly. If you lock your hubs, you are just like you used to be. If not, nothing turns.

You can likely pick up everything to do the conversion at a junk yard too, for pretty cheap.
