Default FJ60 axle dimensions

Those of you with 60 series axles...can you take a measurement for me from backing plate to backing plate (inside dimension)? I need to double check something...

If I remember, I'll do it when I get home.

Matt, I just stepped out and measured mine at 53.5" from the outside edge of the knuckle to the outside edge of the knuckle. I think this is where the backing plate goes, but could be wrong. Basically if you look at the pictures in my disc brake conversion thread - I measured from end to end of what is sitting on the jack stands, not including the birfields hanging out of the knuckle.

Thanks Ricardo, that'll get me close, but the front axle should be slightly wider than a rear axle (for tracking purposes I think), plus the backing plates are a little different. I'm hoping to get a good solid number for the rear axle, especially since the one you just gave me has me wondering...

I just measured the rear and it's also 53.5" from the outside edges of the axle housing where the brake backing plates bolt up.
