Default Oil Consumption from dirty or clogged PVC Valve?

Has anyone ever heard of a dirty or clogged PVC valve causing oil consumption or loss of oil?

I suppose it could, if crankcase pressures were high as a result. It's gotta go SOMEwhere. Maybe out your seals.

They say it's one of the things to check. I replaced mine but it didn't seem to change anything.

I'm still trying to figure mine out. Whenever I get off the trail and back on the paved road I get a steady stream of blue smoke out the tailpipe for a mile or two and then it's clear again. Could the bumps or angles be causing oil to go where it's not supposed to be?

On street driving it doesn't burn very much. I'm a little dismayed that it burns at all--it's only been 40k miles since the rebuild.

I had a friend with 5,000 on a rebuild (22-R) and his rings shattered in number four cylinder. Huge cloud of blue smoke came out the tail pipe then cleared up. didn't burn any oil after that, but it still had broken rings.

My thinking is along the same lines as Bill's. What is the consumption/loss rate? I didn't notice excessive blue smoke from your tailpipe last Sunday. Have you checked for leaks underneath?

The previous F engine in my 71 smoked so much from worn and broken rings, Kevin Ehrlick made me tailgunner one year on a Slaughterhouse run. I protested "But she WANTS to be a diesel!". Yet that plus leaks from a number of spots only lost a quart between changes every 2500 miles.

This is on my 88 Toy. 22RE with 4,400 miles on the rebuild. We have replaced the brand new head with another brand new head thinking it was the valve guides. I thought it may have been the rings not seating. No visible leaks of any kind, and no plumes of smoke at all......So where is the oil going? The thinking now is let's try the PVC valve. Next step will be to replace the block..
