Default What I like best about Moab...

Just as the title says. What are the things you look forward to while in Moab for CM.

I like many of the views from the trails.

Like the overlook at the lunch stop on Hells Revenge (right near hells gate) as it looks over the river.

The overlook from Elephant Hill, the caverns at the end of the trail as well as the petroglyphs on the way to the trail.

The petroglyphs on Steel Bender, they are awesome too.

Moab rim delivers some spectaculr views.

The launching pad on Poison Spider (Golden Spike).

Tipover challenge at the end of Hells Revenge. ( Made it in my FJ55, open, 31's, 3rd attempt. Just ask cheeseman cause I was psyched!)

Plus I also learned to play craps at Eddie McStiffs.

I love being on a trail run with someone who has come to Moab for the first time and who doesn't have a lot of wheeling experience. Then, they drive right through an obstacle and are amazed that they did it! Four wheeling is great fun, but the people make it worth going every year.

How could you choose?

Lion's Back, Hell's Revenge, all of Poison Spider Mesa, Moab Rim, Metal Masher Steel Bender, even the easier stuff is really fun, like Fins n Things, or Chicken Corners.

Every time I go, I try to add a trail I haven't run before, and then I try to visit some old favorites. Pritchett was almost the end of me, and it was not really enjoyable - spent a whole day waiting in line...

Yeah, for me the thing I love the most is the people. Friends I haven't seen in a long time, a lot of times just once a year at Moab. And the friends that I meet each year.

No doubt, the trails are awesome and the views spectacular. Fins will always hold a special place in my heart, that was the first trail I ever did at Moab. Rob Mullen rode with me, photographing the Venzuelan Meso America 2000 expedition. Jame Bingham led, Henry Cubillan translated for them, and Neil Quigley gunned.
