Default almost pissed myself tonight

went to kvanoorts (who eerily looks like my brother) to pick up some parts and whipping onto 270 i started hearing a funny sound from the left rear tire...kinda like when you run in shoes that are too big for ya.

slowed down to about 55 and stuck my head out the window just in time to hear this hit the fenderwell must've looked impressive when it flew off cause the guy behind me swerved and hit the brakes...bet he won't tailgate me again.

Your brother has nicer hair.

Glad to hear you're okay but that sucks about your tire. I've never seen anything like that before.

Bias ply? Glad that knob didn't hit you in the face.
That sounds so wrong.

Same thing happened to me driving my 40 home from Baton Rouge. Mine was still holding air, just missing about a 1' square section of tread. Old dried out tires suck....

The tires were not speed rated high enough!

MANGE TAKK! to jeremy and steve at 4wpw! they were able to get my tire covered by interco and i got me a brand spankin' new swamper mounted and balanced for $21

now...if i could only find defects with the two front tires i'd have a new set (bought a brand new spare right before moab).

hopefully, having matched tires on the rear will help with handling. the tires were almost to the wear treads and i threw my new spare on in place of the chunked tire and man did it pull something fierce bias plys can be a very unfriendly tire. test drive will hopefully be tomorrow when i go to the state meeting

don't roll your eyes...you are totally correct. swampers are not rated for highway speeds (they just don't mention that in their advertising).

still, i'm totally impressed with the fact that the inner section held together and held air the entire time
