The ring was bent to heck and what you see is after I beat on it ... still a bit too oval to go back in place so it is in the "parts bin" in case I get motivated down the road.
The pick will be used instead of the offending piece but how?? (that is why I think I'm clever )

Is it a spacer for the spider gears? The suspense is killing me, I have no idea what you guys are talking about!
