Good stuff y'all, thanks for the help.
I will be careful (I promise), use PPG and pour it in our fume hood at work.
My heat fell way off when I replaced the core w/ a used one. I tried burping the system, pulled the valve to see if it was clogged. I have not tried the IR gun on the rad to see if the t-stat is working properly.

No idea. It's in a location where it could be bashed by a passenger or with a toolbox (which I've been known to carry in the passenger footwell), but I've always had finicky heat with this thing so it may have been something that was there when I bought it. It was hidden under insulation so I had no idea it was kinked like that until I pulled the insulation off.

Wow! Good find! I recently had a hose to my heater core spin itself somehow. it was all helical twisted and it took me about an hour to find the damn thing. I was fortunate enough that it wasn't buried under the dash like yours.

Shameless plug, but speaking of heat issues in our old cruisers, I 3D printed adapters out of Ninjaflex to replace the rubber ends of the defroster hose in my 71 so they would fit this replacement hose I got from a guy on Mud:
