Default Oval TEQ stickers

Hi,

I posted this over on MUD too.

I had a few requests for these stickers recently so I had a few more made. Originally offered by me on the LCML quite some time ago. They are $5 each, I know, expensive, but I'm told the price of good vinyl went up plus these are made without ink, they are 3 individual black vinyl letters hand applied to a white vinyl oval. Lasts a long time.

I'll cover postage. :-) PM or email radams (@) kc.rr.com.

Thanks!

Rich

Rich perhaps you could remind us-what is the significance of the "TEQ"?

That means Toyota in Japanese or what?

Thank you.

3 Japanese Katakana symbols/letters, I believe. To Yo Da. The last name of Mr. T.

That symbol/word/name is embossed/stamped on a lot of our parts. For instance, the oil cap on a 40.

I think it was an original Toyota logo as well.

I have a Christmas raffle going on @ Mud for 5 stickers to 5 winners.

Interesting, the original name of Toyoda was changed to Toyota BECAUSE of the logo. The logo does read TOYOTA.

"In 1936, when Toyoda Automatic Loom Works Ltd. was launching its first passenger car, it needed a new trademark to commemorate the launch. For that purpose, a competition was held to establish a logo that would promote the company’s vehicles. The design requirement of the company was to create something that will express ‘the feeling of speed’. Thus, the winning logo resulted in the change of the name from ‘Toyoda’ to ‘Toyota’. This was as the Japanese lettering of ‘Toyota’ gave the logo a sleek look and was also chosen because the number of strokes in the Japanese word ‘Toyota’ (eight) was considered to bring luck and prosperity."
