Default IPOR FJ40 skid plate?

Does anybody have experience with the IPOR FJ40 Skid Plate?

my stock skid plate is pathetically weak, every time I turn around it's pressed up against the t-case, I'm wondering if just going down the road is putting enough wind pressure on it to bend it up

This is the only off-the-shelf aftermarket one I could find, and with 1/4" steel and being somewhat bowl-shaped it looks like it would hold the weight of my truck if I sat on it (which happens with big rocks), and that's what the guy at IPOR confirmed too. Just don't know, would hate to spend $340 and have it not work.

Don't know about the 40 plate but I really like the 80 plate.

Jim at Solid Rock Off Road built me a tubed skid plate for my 40. It's nice and beefy. Probably cheaper. You might check with him. I like Lance's stuff, but Jim is local.

I called Jim a while ago and he said he was too busy to take the job - if he's more freed up now I can try him again.

Well, if I had a welder, drill press, break, and other assortments of tools and had good practice with them then I would love to, given I had plenty of time. But these days I have more money than time (unlike college), so if I want it anytime soon buying one is the best option for me

sometime before I hit up a hard trail again, which may be a while, so I've got time - probably sometime before summer.
