Agreed

I wanted to share a video of what Wipe Out Hill was like with someone so I did a You Tube search...Of course I couldn't find any videos with Toyota's doing the side we did (at the time...there is one now from CM09). I came across quite a few of Jeeps but I settled on the one with an Xterra to share ...Back on point, there are quite a few videos of Jeeps going down, and then back up that spot, most just driving right up it. I'm with Tim that further left, and staying in it probably would have resulted in Randy going right up it...Then again, the Blue Mule is pretty tall...I guess once I get the video uploaded we call all take a gander and critic in case anyone wants to try it next year...Until then you can critic some Jeeps

Wow, just goes to show you how much of a difference a V8, auto trans and the proper line makes. That looked easy! He was waaaay farther to the left and on a very different angle than I was.

The photographer sent me the jpeg of the photo. Funny, when you get the high resolution version of the photo and blow it up, it shows much better detail of my face...................................

Red Fox went down Wipe Out Hill in his 40 on a pre-run the year that we added the trail to CM. Anyone know if he went back up?

Did not, no one did that day. but you should have heard the sound of his fan shroud "self-clearancing" when his motor mounts tweaked... ouch. In fact first year CM that folks on my run went back up was last year, when just about all of us did in our 80's... that, along with all the videos I've seen, is why I was so lax about not worrying about Randy putting a strap on his rig when he wanted to attempt.

It's a serious obstacle, but I figured he had it- and big props to him for keeping his head straight when the front end went up, because before anyone else could even react he already had the clutch in, tranny in reverse, ready to pop it down if things started tipping the wrong way.

It's funny when vehicles get precarious how the spectators end up being the ones the most freaked out, and the drivers are all like, "what, it wasn't that close..." reminds me of a trip we took last summer

True. I remember the second time I did Gillespie Gulch on our annual night run. I followed Cheeseman up a trough that I had aced the year previous. It had either gotten dug out or I took a poor line because I had my front end wa-a-ay up in the air. Finally I stopped, someone threw a strap on me and I drove out of it. I said, "It wasn't that bad, was it?" And someone responded, "Dude, you were vertical." Karie and the kids were with me that year, too.
